This boy never ceases to amaze me... chilli... olives... horseradish... lettuce... strong/spicy flavours nor unusual textures seem to phase him! We haven’t discovered a single thing he doesn’t like yet... and my goodness has he had such a broad variety of foods and flavours to experience during his first year! It’s so nice to put food in front of a baby and to see them enjoy it, let alone clear their plate! â˜ș⠀

Alexis, my first born, was a great eater, I did a mixture of #blw and purĂ©es with her - all fresh and homemade, but she certainly didn’t have the diversity of foods that Nox has had. That was simply down to me not being as experienced and innovative in the culinary department as Josh is (boy are we lucky to have him! đŸ„°) ⠀

Zachary was a whoooole other story; he wasn’t remotely interested in food until 10 months and he’s always preferred the ‘little but often’ approach to eating rather than sitting down and having a proper meal. He was on anti-biotics for the first 6 months of his life due to a kidney condition and after doing lots of research, I believe this is what caused his internal organs to slow down in development. Hence why he was still doing the ‘tongue out’ reflex at 9 months when offered food - his digestive system simply wasn’t ready yet. ⠀

Fast forward to Nox, and he puts us all to shame! He has a fantastic appetite, and he’s certainly not missing anything or lacking to thrive on a #vegandiet. I appreciate it may not last and the ‘fussy stage’ may kick in at some point, but for now, he’s such a joy to feed (although not ‘physically’ feed - he won’t let anyone else do that for him these days đŸ€Ł)⠀

Really glad you guys enjoyed part 1, i am going to base part 2 on why I went vegetarian. -
At the start of the year I came to the decision i no longer wanted to consume meat. I remember quite clearly I would eat all of my veggies + rice or whatever was served and leaving my meat. I had no intentions of eating it, the smell, the texture and the concept really didn’t make sense to me anymore. The more documentaries and reading I did the more I wanted to make this lifestyle change. The first few weeks were hard, I won’t lie to you I did find it hard at first. I found it awkward going out for dinner and telling people I was now “vegetarian” which was silly because everyone I knew respected my decision. Making any lifestyle change is hard and I think once you realise that the experience is less daunting. As I mentioned in part 1, your tastes buds forget tastes of certain foods very fast. Within three weeks I had forgotten the taste of meat (thank god lol). The number 1 reason for myself going vegetarian was I believe meat is a big connection to many health concerns. For example, 700 grams of red meat a week increases your chances or bowel cancer. Or how beef, pork, and lamb is classified as a group 2A carcinogen. After a few months of being vegetarian I begun doing even more research into my new lifestyle. I started seeing how my lifestyle change was also a  positive change on the environment and of course the animals. As I mentioned before I am not doing this series to demand you go vegetarian. I am doing this to inform you of my lifestyle change + I hope it helps you even make Monday #meatlessmonday 😊 it’s small little changes that will help your health, environment and ofc the animals lives. Ich habe gestern einen riesigen Topf KĂŒrbissuppe mit Kokosmilch und Ingwer gekocht und dachte ehrlich, der reicht auch noch fĂŒr heute.. 🙈

Starting up the week really well because I woke up late (but arrived on time at work 🙏) and had a cookie for breakfast (not ideal but it fills me up) BUT today is meatless Monday and I had tofu for the first time in my life. And I like it 👌 I marinated the tofu overnight with a reduced salt soy sauce, PB2, cashews, chili flakes, smoked paprika, cumin and a drizzle of honey for the sweetness. I sautĂ©ed it with wok vegetables (tbh it’s a mix from @picardsurgeles) and served it over brown rice. 💯 would do it again đŸ€€
